CURRENT VACANCIES:

SEASONAL STAFF 

In the run up to Christmas, we get extremely busy and need to take on temporary staff for our shops, market stalls and wholesale team (there are some other opportunities across the business too).
We are looking for cheese lovers who enjoy working with a large group of people in a small space whilst ensuring that the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Though the work is physically demanding, the rewards of working in the team to provide great cheese and service are deeply satisfying.

The practicalities:
  • Start dates could be anytime from now
  • The minimum you would need to be available for is from Monday December 8th to Christmas Eve inclusive
  • You must also be available for an induction on Sunday November 30th
  • Contracts will run up to December 31st
  • A shift is generally eight and a half hours
  • The rate of pay is £8.50 per hour

MULTI-DROP DELIVERY DRIVER

Based in Bermondsey SE1, we are looking for someone to join our Drivers team. This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday, generally from 5.30am until around 2pm. Driving Mercedes Sprinter medium wheelbase vans provided by us, the role mainly involves delivering to shops, restaurants and food halls within the M25, but there are occasions when drops and pick-ups will be further afield.
 
Do you:
  • have a great eye for detail and a desire to get things right?
  • know your way around the streets of London?
  • have exemplary communication and customer relation skills?
  • have a full, clean, UK drivers licence that you have held for a minimum of 2 years (for insurance purposes)?
And are you physically fit and agile?

QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSISTANT

Our Quality Assurance system is an integral part of our work, and we're looking for someone to join us and help us manage it.  Based at Druid Street this role is 3 days a week, and is tasked with looking after the NYD Quality System both internally and externally.  Working alongside our Buyer, the jobholder is responsible for making our Quality System work, and maintaining the processes and procedures that go along with that.  The nature of the system means that the role is made up predominantly of project work, dependant on the area of focus required.  There is an element of leading and delivering the associated training required throughout the business, and auditing all areas to ensure compliance with our internal systems. 
 
Ideally you will have a food technology/science background, and be interested in applying the principles of your education and experience to both challenge and maintain our systems in a sensible, usable and meaningful way.  You'll also need to be meticulous in your attention to detail, analytical and able to interpret and use valuable data in an influential way across our business.
